CounterCall

From Branded Personas AI Voice agent to Zero-UI Automation

As Co-Founder and Product Lead, I built an AI voice agent platform designed to solve missed-call revenue loss for SMBs. The product evolved from a visual-first "Choose Your Agent" interface into a "Zero-UI" solution where users build their agent simply by talking to a "Builder AI" over the phone. I executed the project end-to-end, utilizing Cursor and Supabase for the technical build, while leveraging Nano Banana Pro, Kling 2.6, and Veo 3 to generate synthetic UGC and hyper-realistic marketing assets.

The Challenge
Small, hands-on businesses (plumbers, salons, studios) lose significant revenue on missed calls. While AI agents offer a solution, adoption is low due to technical complexity and trust issues. As Co-Founder and Product Lead, I set out to build an accessible solution.

Phase 1: The Hypothesis (Brand-First)

Initially, we believed the barrier was impersonal AI. We built CounterCall V1 based on "Branded Personalities", distinct visual and vocal characters tailored to specific industries.

  • The Build: A "Choose Your Agent" interface with distinct tones of voice and visual identities.

  • The Learning: While creatively strong, we hit a psychological wall. Small business owners were hesitant to let a generic startup represent their brand voice. The friction was high, and the trust was low.

Phase 2: The Pivot (Automation-First)

We completely flipped the strategy for V2. We moved from "Brand" to "Radical Accessibility." The goal: create an agent with zero software to learn.

  • The "No-Dashboard" UX: We replaced the dashboard with a phone-to-phone setup.

  • The Builder Agent: Instead of filling out forms, the user calls a "Builder AI." This AI interviews them about their business (hours, services, tone).

  • Instant Deployment: In the background, the system automatically provisions a phone number, configures the new agent based on the interview, and texts the user their new business line, ready to go.

My Role & Execution

I bridged the gap between product strategy, design, and technical implementation, working alongside a technical co-founder.

  • Product Strategy: Led the pivot logic and mapped the multi-agent architecture (Builder Agent → Business Agent → Support Agent).

  • UX/UI & Design: Designed the end-to-end flows, visual identity, and the "conversation design" for the agents to ensure they sounded natural, not robotic.

  • Front-End Implementation: Built the web interface and widgets using Cursor (AI-assisted coding) and React.

  • Data & Infrastructure: Managed data flows using Supabase, set up webhooks for CRM integration (Google Sheets), and built internal analytics dashboards to track user behavior.

  • Growth: Managed Meta campaigns, creating UGC-style ads and creatives that tested our value propositions.

Key Takeaways

CounterCall represents my ability to prioritize pragmatism over perfection. It demonstrates how I leverage AI tools (Cursor, LLMs) to build functional products quickly and my willingness to kill a "cool" idea (V1) in favor of a frictionless solution (V2) that actually solves the user's problem.

Marketing Evolution & Synthetic Production
I leveraged a unified AI production stack (Nano Banana Pro, Kling AI 2.6, Veo 3) to generate distinct visual languages tailored to each strategic phase:

V1 (Brand-First): Utilized stylized character animations to demonstrate the platform's versatility, visually proving how different agent personalities and tones could perfectly match diverse brand identities.

V2 (Automation-First): Shifted to hyper-realism to build trust with a non-tech audience. Generated Synthetic UGC featuring "blue-collar" workers to demonstrate to busy tradespeople that the solution is mature, simple, and requires absolutely no technical effort.
